Glass balustrade and wind protection around the pool
When Mikael planned the family’s outdoor environment, he wanted to create a place that both feels well thought out and lasts over time.
The family’s wish was to create a place where they can gather between the children’s leisure activities and an intense working life – an oasis for recovery, togetherness and time together.
– I wanted to build an outdoor space that suited the family and looked for an option that both protects from the wind and at the same time feels open and stylish, says Mikael.
Combination of height-adjustable and fixed glass balustrades
The solution became a combination of height-adjustable and fixed glass balustrades. In this way, Mikael could create the right balance between wind protection, design and openness around the pool. The movable sections provide flexibility when weather and wind change, while the fixed parts create a clear and uniform frame.
As a personal detail, he also built in his own wooden fence, which gave the outdoor space a warm and unique expression.
“When we discovered the possibility of combining different glass balustrades and saw that different parts of the pool area had different needs, it became clear that we needed to combine several solutions to achieve the right complete setting. By combining height-adjustable glass balustrades with fixed sections, we got exactly the balance we were looking for.”
Self installation with expert support
Mikael carried out the installation himself and achieved a result that truly stands out. Throughout the entire process, he received support from our product experts regarding planning, fixing solutions and product choices, which provided confidence from the first step to the finished outdoor space.

The foundation makes all the difference
One of the most important lessons from the project is how crucial the foundation is. When the base is properly prepared, both function, stability and the final feel become better.
To ensure the best possible result, Mikael used the document Bygghjälpen already during the planning phase. With the right conditions from the start, both the installation and the final result improve.
– For me, it was important to do it right from the beginning. When the foundation is properly planned, the entire solution becomes better – in feel, function and durability. We are so pleased, says Mikael.
A personal result that lasts
Today the outdoor space is framed around a beautiful pool. The combination of height-adjustable glass balustrades, fixed sections and the wooden fence frames the environment without closing it off – creating an open, stylish and functional outdoor setting.
Here Mikael and his family have a place where they can gather, relax and recharge between everyday activities.
– It was important for me to achieve an open feeling around the pool and areas where we can be together. With the glass balustrade we got wind protection, structure and freedom,” says Mikael.
